An original oil painting depicting Whitby a lovely seaside town in North Yorkshire! Aptly named Tin Ghaut. A Ghaut is a Narrow alley which link streets to waterways in Whitby. The painting depicts the familiar Tin Ghaut, artists came from all over the world to paint this area and Cockpit yard, sadly demolished in the early 60s.
The painting is named/signed to the reverse but also dated 3.12.1971, which suggests as the style of frame it was painted in the 1970s.
The frame has discoloured with age, the painting is in great condition.
