It is likely a piece that came out of school or country house and probably used in a kitchen filled with pots and pans! 

The piece is structurally sound in good rustic condition with what looks like a white limed finish, expect usual wear, knocks, patina and character as expected with a piece of this age, couple of small pieces of bead missing, very small area of long gone woodworm to one corner, it is cleaned and treated ready for a new home or business.
